Hi,
Well yes arguing so your child can hear is distressing for the child. However i think as long as the arguments are just that and not violent or filled with death threats etc (you know what I mean), than it's much healthier for a child to see mummy and daddy get very annoyed with each other and then make up and be friends again. It's better than having lots of tension the child will pick up on anyway and trying to hide it. The important thing is for your daughter to know that you can disagree with someone, have a little argument and be okay with each other. Tell her this, a three year old will understand the basic gist.
If the arguments are nasty, that's definitley not good and can result in all sorts of unwanted behaviour from tantrums, extra clingyness or withdrawn behaviour, as well as imitating what they say and see. You will know if this is the case by looking at your child and their behaviour. In which case you and your husband should sit down and discuss ways to stop the behaviour in front of your daughter - even if it means going in another room or one of you leaving the house for a few minutes or hours to calm down.
Good luck.
