A female reader, anonymous, writes (16 May 2007):

hi, do you mean help with setteling in to a new childcare setting? if so the staff should: slowly introduce the child ( start off with you staying then stay for a short while on there own and then stay for the full lenghth of time), they should explain all procedures to you and show you around, be friendly and chatty to you, your child should be encouraged to join in with others and be allocated a key member of staff so they have someone they can get use to and will be more likely to settle.

i hope this is of help to you and good luck
