The threat of soap or washing up liquid in mouth works wonders
The trouble is when they start school they copy their class mates and older children and they think they are being big and clever and naughty words are funny to them and they get a reaction from adults.
Try explaining that they are bad words and people who say them are naughty and get in trouble and if he keeps using bad words people wont like him very much.
None of us are perfect and we all come out with the odd swear word.
My 4 year old daughter tells me off if i do and comes and tells me if her dad or brothers do.I tell her not to repeat it. she has just started school and the same thing is happening to me because she has heard new words all i have said to her is that, its a bad word and you shouldn't call your brother names and if she does it again she will get a bar of soap in her mouth, it seems to have worked so far,
In time it will stop because now he is at school he is hearing and learning new things and he will learn that it is not acceptable at the moment it is all a learning curve they same as when he was first learning to talk.
Take care
