Much thanks. Reply to this Question |

Hi I know as a parent how hard it can be to control what your children eat, however I think you have to control your sons carb intake for the sake of his health. I think it may be an idea to sit and talk to your son about the health implications of unhealthy eating. Try to highlight that eating fruit and vegetables can be as delicious as eating sweets and chocolates. Why not introduce him to fruit smoothies, healthy soups and to keep carbs in his diet, make vegetable pasta. Also restrict him to eating one chocolate bar per day and only if he eats his main meals and fuit first. Also try him on porridge for breakfast as this will keep him fuller for longer and should stop his temptation for snacking. It may take a little while for his to adjust but stick with it as it will pay off in the long run. Hope this helps. Jen

Hi there,
it is very common for a boy this age to eat all this rubbish as i myself have an 11 yr old son who eats choclate and chips ect..your not alone here..and they eat so much at this age but its due to growing.. the older they get the more they eat..Is he eating properly at school? if his having school dinners maybe you should try him with packed lunches(sandwiches ect).. if his not then maybe thats why he comes home craving for this junk food.. we all want our children to have a healthy balanced diet and the schools are not helping ..because all they seem to be dishing out is chips and fatty foods..the only thing i can suggest is try cutting out carbs from your weekly shop and introducing more healthier foods thats all i have done..
GOOD LUCK
