When i divorced the father of my children over 9 years ago,he met another woman and didnt want anything to do with his own children,i begged him to give me a break and have them on 2 evenings a month to give me a break so i could go out without the need of getting a babysitter,plus i feel it is so important for both parents to be involved in every aspect of their childs upbringing.
I was willing not to claim child support if he would agree to have his children on a regular basis,all i wanted was for him to do a little with them,but this was not to be.
I ended up getting the csa on him to pay.
I think you are a wonderful father and i admire you for what you are doing.
I think you are paying enough and shouldnt be paying anymore..its a pity other fathers arent like you..

 I think it depends on you really, whether you want to do things for your child as the court dictate or as a normal father who would always put his child welfare first and if childcare is part of it he wont be bothered. I dont see a problem in that unless if it an unreasonable request but the fact still remains the child is yours and the decision has to be yours.

reader, anonymous, writes (27 October 2006): even though u have the child for 156 days per year, u do still have to pay for half the cost of everything that the child needs other than maintence. needs such as daycare, then schooling, medical, dental, etc. child maintenace is for clothing, and other minor necessesties. if u dont help financially for the other things then u could end up in court and lose. just dont get sucked in to paying for everything.
