rockelle agony auntI think that maybe you should speak to your daughter as if she is an adult, after all she is doing adult things. Let her know that what this man is doing is illegal and he can be arrested. Do not threaten her but make it clear that you do not approve of this relationship. I would talk to the guy and tell him that if does not leave my child alone he will go to jail.

dapone 1 agony aunthi.

Your daughter is classed as a minor under UK law, the guy that she is having sex with is an adult, if you wish you can report him to the Police, because she is protected by the criminal justice system.

She is to young to consent to a sexual relationship because she is a minor, under the age of 16, the adult is breaking the law because he is taking advantage of her.

i hope this will help you.

A male reader, dapone 1 United Kingdom +, writes (28 October 2007):

dapone 1 agony auntHi lmewards.

It depends on how far you are willing to go, the up side is in UK, there are laws to protect your daughter, at 15 years of age she is classed as a Minor, and is not legally responsible for her action, But a 26 year old man (Adult) is and so with him sleeping with your daughter, he is breaking the law and if you report his behavior to the Police, he can be arrested and charge with this offense, under the criminal justice system, he of course will go to jail, put on a sexual offenders list for the rest of his life.

16 is the legal age of consent, and if a person has had a relationship with this person below that age even if it come out a year later, there is no statute of limitation on this crime.

The down side is that your daughter will hate you, and never speak to you again, she may keep running away from home, vanishing all over the place for weeks on end and making your life a nightmare, sorry do not mean to hurt your feeling but this is the truth of the matter, i can not tell you what to do, but my own view would be to report this child molester, to the Police, but the choice can only be yours.

Hope this helps you. good luck

You need to take your girl to the councelling derpartments because it seems like she does not bave any clue why she is doing this and particular she does not have any sounding reason why she is dating with such an old man.It is realy bad so you just need to act apon this as soon as possible.

You can only advise her on contraception at this point. Anything else you try will result in failure and upset. You do not want to lose her, so dont interfere. She will respect you more and who knows, she may just go off him. Best of luck with that

A male reader, anonymous, writes (24 October 2007):

you have to leave her alone. She thinks she's right and no matter what you say or do it wont change her mind. You dont want to turn her against you. It wont work if you approach the man either as he'll just tell her and then youre back to square one. Rest assured, she'll learn and all you can do is advise her on contraception etc. Good luck with that.
